Configuring your Outlook Express Mail Client

This section will guide you through a step by step process on how to setup
and configure your Outlook Express mail client. It also contains additional
information on how to troubleshoot your POP account. * If you are using email
forwarding, do not make any adjustments to your Outlook Express settings.
  1. Open your Outlook Express and select Tools on your menu bar.
  2. Scroll down and click Accounts.  
  3. This will open up the Internet Accounts box.
  1. Select the Mail tab. 
  2. Select Add and click on Mail.
  3. This option will open the Internet Connection Wizard box.
  1. Enter your name and click on Next.
  1. In the Email address field, enter your "We Host Anyone" web's POP email address and click on Next.
  1. For your Incoming mail (POP3) enter "your_domain.com".  
  2. For your Outgoing mail (SMTP) enter "your_domain.com". (ex. "Wehostanyone".com)
    * Be aware that your SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) setting may differ depending
    upon your current ISP (Internet Service Provider).
  1. Enter your username and password (provided by "We Host Anyone").
  2. Click on Next and Finish.

Congratulations! You've completed your email setup.


Troubleshooting your POP account

This section will cover common problems that you may experience with your POP
account.If you are unsuccessful with these steps, please contact our Technical Support

"I can receive emails, but I can't send any out."

There are two possibilities that may hinder you from sending out your emails:
  1. Before you send out any emails, click on File and scroll down and click on Check and send mail.
    This process will verify your remote IP address and allow you access to the mail servers.
  1. There are some major ISP (Internet Service Providers) that will require you to use their
    SMTP settings in order for you to send out any emails.

    • Open your Pegasus and click on Tools and Internet Options.
    • The Internet Mail Options dialog box will prompt.
    • Change the SMTP host to your current ISP settings.

Here are a few ISPs that will require you to use their SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) settings:

  • AOL (America Online)
  • Earthlink
  • Mindspring
  • Altavista
  • Netzero

Netscape Communicator mail client. It also contains additional information on how to troubleshoot
your POP (Post Office Protocol) account.
* If you are using email forwarding, do not make any adjustments to your Netscape Communicator
settings.
  1. Open your Netscape Communicator and select Edit on your menu bar. 
  2. Scroll down and click Preferences.  
  3. This will open up the Preferences box.
  1. In the Category box, select Mail Servers.  
  2. In the Incoming Mail Servers, select Add.  
  3. This option will open the Mail Server Properties box.
  1. For the Server Name: field, enter your_domain.com.  
  2. Server Type field, select POP3 Server. 
  3. In the User Name field, enter your "We Host Anyone" user name.
  1. For your Outgoing Mail Server, enter your_domain.com.
    * Be aware that your SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) settings may differ depending upon your current ISP (Internet Service Provider).
  2. Enter your "We Host Anyone" user name again and click OK.

"I can receive emails, but I can't send any out."

    will prompt you to enter your "We Host Anyone" password.This process will verify your remote IP
    address and allow you access to the mail servers.
  1. There are some major ISP (Internet Service Providers) that will require you to use their SMTP
    settings in order for you to send out any emails.
  • Open your Netscape Communicator and click on Edit and Preferences.
  • The Preference dialog box will prompt.
  • In the Category box, select Mail Servers.
  • Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: to your current ISP settings and the Outgoing mail
    sever user name should be changed to your username at your current ISP.
Here are a few ISPs that will require you to use their SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol)
settings:
  • AOL (America Online)
  • Earthlink

  1. Open your Pegasus and select Tools on your menu bar. 
  2. Scroll down and click Internet options.

  2. In the SMTP host field, enter your_domain.com and click on OK.
